Why I Built This Calculator

I'm a web developer who genuinely loves numbers and calculations. There's something deeply satisfying about turning complex financial formulas into clear, actionable insights that anyone can understand.

When I started planning for my own retirement, I found that most calculators online were either too simplistic (just a single savings number) or locked behind paywalls and financial advisor consultations. I wanted something in between — a tool that was detailed enough to account for Social Security timing, required minimum distributions, tax brackets, inflation, and multiple account types, but still free and easy to use.

So I built it myself. The Retirement Budget Calculator is the tool I wished existed when I started my own retirement planning journey. Every formula is transparent (you can see them all on the Formulas page), every calculation is run in your browser with no data sent to any server, and it will always be free to use.

Built with Care

Every feature is carefully engineered for accuracy and performance. The entire calculator runs client-side — your financial data never leaves your browser.

Passion for Numbers

From compound growth to progressive tax brackets, I enjoy modeling the math behind financial planning and making it accessible to everyone.

Always Improving

I continuously update the calculator with the latest IRS tables, tax brackets, and contribution limits to keep your projections accurate.
